COMPANY SUMMARYMocama Marine LLC (Mocama or Company) is a manufacturer of two premier boat brands including:
Action Craft (a revered brand of flats boats and bay boats) and Southwind (a premium brand of high-quality deck boats).
JOB SUMMARYThe Accounting Manager is responsible for the accounting operations of the Company.
This includes the production of financial reports, payroll activities, maintenance of accounting records, AR/AP/bookkeeping, and a maintaining a comprehensive set of controls to mitigate risk.
The Accounting Manager is also responsible for enhancing the accuracy of the company's reported financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage all accounting functions of manufacturing facility (including carrying out any necessary accounting functions until department fully built out).
Prepare and distribute monthly financial statements and reporting packages.
Analyze and interpret actual operating results and related variances to support management decision-making.
Manage all accounting functions and internal controls.
Analyze the performance of the operating locations and identify and address operating concerns.
Prepare and monitor operating budgets and capital expenditures.
Evaluate adequacy and effectiveness of critical processes and systems.
Prepares purchase order requests for capital spending authorizations and initiates the approval process for all investment project proposals for the plant operation.
Oversees the scheduling, auditing, and reconciliation of all plant physical inventories.
Responsible for maintaining a perpetual inventory process, physical control, accurate accounting and tracking of work in process.
Responsible for oversight of payroll and time keeping system.
Responsible for the monthly financial close process.
Responsible for effectively managing AR/AP.
Obtain and maintain a thorough knowledge of all company products and processes.
All other duties as may be required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & CHARACTERISTICS Education, Experience & Knowledge:

years of accounting experience in a supervisory role (preferably at Accountant/Assistant Controller/Controller level).
Bachelor's Degree (preferably in accounting/finance or equivalent) Manufacturing accounting experience highly preferred.
Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting (COGS, WIP, inventory controls, etc.
).
Strong understanding of GAAP and applicable tax laws.
Good communication skills and training experience.
Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Information Systems:
Computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), inventory control systems, and accounting software (QuickBooks at a minimum).
Language & Communication:
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, electronic mail, procedures and performance documents, as examples, in English.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and other employees of the organization.
Ability to effectively conduct meetings in person and with technology assistance.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Ability to utilize data to make business decisions.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
