SUPERVISORY YOUTH PROGRAMS SPECIALIST

This is a Term position NTE 13 months; the individual selected for this position may be extended without further competition. Current Federal civilian employees may apply for this position using Reinstatement eligibility and if selected, a break in service of at least 4 calendar days may be required prior to appointment to this position. In order to qualify, you must meet the basic requirement and specialized experience requirements described in theOffice of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1701, General Education and Training series. BASIC REQUIREMENT FOR GS-1701 POSITIONS:
A Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position. NOTE:

OR Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above. Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of theories, methodology, and practices of child and youth development to direct and oversee the operation of enhanced Youth Programs social, cognitive, physical, and emotional growth of participants. Knowledge of a wide range of educational and recreational activities and services, participants' needs and interests, and Youth Center processes to plan, conduct and enhance program operations effectively and within available resources. OR EDUCATION:
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE:
You must submit copies of your transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of regulatory requirements, practices, range of activities and services, and participant requirements in a typical Air Force youth activities and school age program. 2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 3. Knowledge of various budget and accounting procedures to include appropriated, nonappropriated and independent grant budget systems. 4. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. 5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
Experience:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK
Experience:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
