SECURITY SPECIALIST

Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level (or higher) or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying a broad range of security program relationships, and proficiency in information, personnel, and industrial security to effectively implement and administer applicable security programs and/or coordinate with other specialized security programs; applying security classification methods, concepts and eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information to review plans to assure the presence of adequate planning for information security and other controls. OR Education:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE:

Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge and experience of Advanced Program security concepts, programs, procedures and practices to manage the operation of the 325 FW's Special Access Programs. 2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices and procedures. 3. Skill and experience with Advanced Programs, Operations Security, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), communication, industrial, information, physical and personnel security concepts, principles and practices to plan and implement security programs in those areas as well as knowledge and experience with SCI security procedures. 4. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written in a clear, concise, accurate manner. 5. Knowledge and experience with the development and management of SAP security training concepts, programs, procedures and practices to assist program managers in establishing and operating internal security programs. 6. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with headquarters, coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
